The article considers established theories on the progress of rural areas, identifies the main driving forces of change in rural societies, and proposes a wide range of strategies for Sustainable Development. A comprehensive analysis of the social aspects of people, the economy, infrastructure and Rural Life shows that real progress is achieved by combining efforts to create jobs, modernize infrastructure, support education and strengthen institutions.
