In the context of escalating environmental and resource-related challenges associated with the activities of the industrial sector, the formation of sustainable models of industrial development becomes particularly significant. The presented article is aimed at a comprehensive scientific understanding of the role of resource-efficient and environmentally friendly technological solutions in ensuring the ecological and economic efficiency of production systems in light industry enterprises.The article identifies the main obstacles (technological, institutional, and human resources) and driving factors (government support, investment, standardization) for the sustainable transformation of the sector.
